Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad city in Gujarat on Saturday, where he is to address party workers, a party leader stated. He will also meet the family members of those who died during the Rajkot game zone fire, the boat capsize incident in Vadodara, the Morbi bridge collapse, and other various incidents in the state that occurred in the recent past.


The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha is planning his visit to Gujarat after a recent clash between BJP and Congress workers outside the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) office. This dispute arose over alleged anti-Hindu remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Both parties filed complaints against each other, resulting in FIRs and the arrest of five Congress workers.

Gujarat Congress president Shaktisinh Gohil said on Friday that during the visit, Gandhi will also meet the family members of those five Congress workers who are currently in police custody.

"Rahul Gandhi will arrive at the GPCC office here around 12.30 pm. During his visit, he will meet and address party workers. He will also meet the kin of the victims who lost their lives in the Rajkot game zone fire and other such tragedies. He will also interact with the family members of those party workers who were arrested by the police after the clash," he said, news agency PTI reported.


The clash erupted on July 2 outside Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress's state headquarters in Paldi, when BJP's youth wing members protested against Gandhi's remarks on Hindus. According to police, both sides were engaged in stone-pelting, resulting in injuries to five policemen, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police.






On July 3, Ellisbridge police lodged two FIRs and arrested five Congress workers, who are currently under remand. One FIR was registered by the police against approximately 450 workers from both parties, while another was filed against Congress workers based on a complaint by the Ahmedabad youth wing of the BJP.
