The event is aimed at reaching out to the large Indian diaspora residing in the Middle East country of UAE for 2019 general elections. Sources say the event will be organised at a massive scale at a stadium in Sharjah which is approximately 30 kms north to Dubai. UAE has a population of roughly three lakh Indians.
Ahead of his trip to UAE in October end, Gandhi will intensify his electoral campaigns in poll-bound state of Madhya Pradesh. The dates of the election are yet to be announced in the state that has been ruled by the BJP.
The Congress President was accused by the BJP of not taking up the Kailash Yatra in real and posting fake photographs from the party office. Debunking Union Minister Giriraj Singh's allegations , the Congress on Friday tweeted a picture of Gandhi with Mount Kailash in the backdrop, along with his walking record.
"Leaving all the haters behind, Congress President Gandhi sets the pace during his Kailash Yatra. Can you keep up?" the Congress party tweeted from its official account.
The tweet carried a picture of Gandhi and his walking record that showed he had covered 34.31 km in 463 minutes and ascended a height equal to 203 floors in a day.
Gandhi embarked on the religious tour on August 31 from Delhi. He been tweeting pictures and videos from his yatra.
