"You need one spark and we'll be in big trouble," the former Congress President emphasised as he spoke at an event in London titled ‘Ideas for India’. "India is not in a good place. BJP has spread kerosene all over the country. You need one spark and we'll be in big trouble. I think that's also the responsibility of the opposition, the Congress - that bring people, communities, states, and religions together," Rahul Gandhi said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

At the London event, he further stressed, "we need to cool this temperature down because if this temperature doesn't cool down, things can go wrong."

The Wayanad MP alleged that BJP's winning streak against his party is caused by "polarisation and total dominance of media," "Also, RSS has built a structure that has penetrated into the large mass," he added. He said that opposition parties and Congress need to build such a structure to be able battle the saffron party.

"We need to go much more aggressively to the large mass of people, to 60-70% of people who don't vote for the BJP and we need to do it together," Rahul Gandhi stated.

The former Congress president has been accusing the ruling government of working for the benefit of a few industrialists and corporates. He reiterated his allegation saying, "I think it's very dangerous for one company to control all airports, all ports, all the infrastructure. It (Private sector monopoly) has never existed in this form. It has never existed with such a massive concentration of power and capital."

"This is another aspect that is throttling the conversation because there is control of the media through this concentration of capital," he claimed.

Notably, while Rahul Gandhi accused BJP of spreading "kerosene all over the country", Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech at a BJP meeting on Friday hit out that opposition parties saying that some political parties keep looking for small incidents of tension to inject poison into the nation for their selfish interests.

"Ecosystem of some parties trying hard to detract country from main issues but we don't have to fall in their trap. Attempts will be made to deviate you from the country's development issues but you have to stick to them," PM Modi stressed as he virtually addressed the BJP's national office bearers.
