A tragic incident unfolded in Punjab as a 10-year-old girl, Manvi, passed away due to suspected food poisoning after consuming a cake during her birthday celebration last week. According to her grandfather, the entire family, including her younger sister, fell ill after partaking in the cake, which was ordered online from a bakery in Patiala, NDTV reported.
The heartbreaking turn of events occurred shortly after Manvi joyfully cut the cake and celebrated with her family, as captured in a widely shared video on social media.
The celebration took place around 7 PM on March 24. However, by 10 PM the same night, the entire family experienced sickness, with both sisters starting to vomit soon after consuming the cake.
Manvi, feeling extreme thirst and complaining of dryness in her mouth, requested water before retiring to bed, recounted her grandfather, Harban Lal, NDTV reported. Tragically, she succumbed to the suspected food poisoning thereafter.
Following Manvi's deteriorating health, her family rushed her to the hospital the next morning. Medical interventions, including oxygen support and an electrocardiogram (ECG) to monitor her heart's electrical activity, were administered. Despite these efforts, they were unable to save her, and she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, as informed by her grandfather, Harban Lal.
