New Delhi: Politics of racialism will end, politics of patriotism will start, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday in the state capital Lucknow.

He was speaking in BJP's working committee meeting.

Interestingly, on Monday, hitting out at former Samajwadi government Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Minister Dharmapal Singh said, reported PTI-"Farmers are a priority for the Yogi government while
butchers were the sole priority of the previous government".

In a separate incident,  Yogi Adityanath on Monday, refused to meet the family of jailed rape-accused ex minister Gayatri Prajapati at his residence in Lucknow, according to family members of the SP leader.

"We wanted to meet the chief minister, but he did not meet us," Prajapati's wife said, reported PTI.

"I am confident that my husband will get justice. We will make another attempt to have a word with the chief minister," she said.

Gayatri Prasad Prajapati is a leader of SP and was a cabinet minister in the government of UP led by former CM Akhilesh Yadav. He held the ministry of Transport.

Criminal Charges on Gayatri Prasad Prajapati

  • Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was under the Lokayukta scanner for allegedly misusing his position to amass assets worth crores.

  • On 17 February 2017, the Supreme Court of India directed UP police to lodge an FIR against Prajapati in connection with a rape case.

  • Prajapati was arrested in Lucknow on March 15 2017 after an escape since February 27, 2017.

  • A female, hailing from Chitrakoot, alleged that Prajapati had raped her 3 years back.
