New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal urged his political rivals to refrain from making unnecessary allegations against their political opponents. He said that people holding important positions should not make such comments and work for the development of their region, instead.
"We the political leaders who are sitting at responsible positions chosen by the public should not indulge in political rivalries and put allegations against each other. We should work for the development of the people," said Kejriwal while addressing a press meet in Haridwar, Uttarakhand reported news agency ANI.
Kejriwal's remark is being seen as a response to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement that Delhi government's decision to forcibly ask migrant workers to leave the city during the first wave of Covid-19 was inhuman.
"Listen Kejriwal, you forced the workers of UP to leave Delhi when the entire humanity was groaning by the pain of corona. Your government did an inhuman and undemocratic act like leaving even small children and women helpless on the up border in the middle of the night. Call you a traitor or..." Yogi Adityanath wrote in Hindi on his twitter handle on Monday.
Soon, Kejriwal hit out at Yogi Adityanath saying that the UP Chief Minister was busy advertising in the Times magazine when dead bodies were flowing in the Ganga river during the second wave of Covid-19.
The AAP chief also explained why he had to respond to Yogi Adityanath's Tweets. "Yesterday I replied to Yogiji's remarks because people would have said that I have accepted these allegations," said Kejriwal during his address to the media in Haridwar.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal said that his party if voted to power in Uttarakhand will work on infrastructure development in the state, improve medical facilities and create employment opportunities.
