New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh police have arrested the man from the viral video in which he was seen throwing a stray dog into Bhopal's Upper Lake under section 429.  The culprit who has been identified as Salman was arrested after a case was registered against him for his monstrous act which had has gone viral on social media.


According to a report by PTI, the incident seems to have happened at Boat Club Road near Van Vihar on the banks of the lake, also called Bada Talab.

In the video, Salman can be seen picking up a stray dog that had come close to him and throws the dog into the lake. He then starts giggling looking at the person shooting the video. A song from Hindi movie Commando 3 can be heard in the background in the video. According to a report by Hindustan Times, he has a history of animal violence.

After the incident became viral, Bhopal Deputy Inspector General of Police Irshad Wali had said, "We have taken cognizance of this video which went viral on social media. We are taking action in this matter.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ramsanehi Mishra had said that the case was registered under Indian Penal Code section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming any animal). Mishra also said that said Shyamla Hills police were investigating the case and also said prima facie it seems that the video was shot at Boat Club Road of Upper Lake.

Many in social media have shared the video expressing the anger and asking for justice.




Animal lovers in social media are showing support for the cause and are urging authorities to take action against the accused.
