New Delhi: While news about politicians and their supporters delivering harsh comments, political attacks and accusations are normal amid election season, an act of kindness is something that is often missing or goes unnoticed.


While usual election drama unfolds, a beautiful gesture of a police constable is getting lauded by netizens.

Andhra Pradesh Police's official Twitter handle carried an update about how an Anantapur Police constable deployed to Tamil Nadu for state assembly election carried and lulled a 1-month-old crying baby until the mother returned from the voting booth. The gesture as they put it is "winning the hearts of many".



Tamil Nadu polled for the state assembly election in a single phase which was held on April 6, Tuesday. The incident written about by Andhra Pradesh Police happened on the same day.


Several Twitter users responded to the tweet, heaping praises on the police constable.




 


 


Voter turnout crossed 60 percent in Tamil Nadu by evening as polling continued peacefully with several political leaders, actors and celebrities spotted voting on Tuesday. There were no major incidents except for some sporadic, poll-related minor activities. Till 5 pm, the voting was 63.60 percent, Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo had informed.


Namakkal saw the highest voting with 70.79 percent and Tirunelveli the lowest with 50.05 percent.
