Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address at the G20 summit would focus on the concerns of energy security, food security, global health security, environment, and climate change, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said on Sunday during a special briefing on the PM's visit to Indonesia, news agency ANI reported.
The G20 is the premier platform for worldwide economic cooperation, and it is critical in developing and strengthening global architecture and governance in all key international economic and development concerns.
"PM Modi will be attending the 17th G-20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia from tomorrow. India will hold the presidency of G20 for one year starting from December 1," the foreign secretary was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Regarding the PM's message to G20 leaders dealing with the problems of post-pandemic recovery and the Russia-Ukraine war, Kwatra stated that the issues will be the meeting's key emphasis.
"The G20 countries are facing several challenges which include the continuing uncertainty and challenges relating to energy security, the whole rubric of environment and climate challenges, the challenges related to food security, and the problem of global health security," he said, according to ANI.
The foreign secretary, however, stated that the issues also create potential in the digital arena and the delivery of governance through digital platforms, which is a "unique competence" of the Indian economic ecosystem.

"So, obviously, when you resolve these challenges and respond to these opportunities, it has to be done in a way that provides an important voice to the developing world; the idea is that the benefit of mitigating these challenges and harnessing these opportunities should go in a very large measure to the developing south as well," Kwatra said, reported by ANI.
The foreign secretary continued by stating that conversations along similar lines will take place during the meeting.
"I'm not sure what the Prime Minister's response would be. But I'm assuming it's an intersecting set of several of these elements and certain sub-sections of these elements," Kwatra stated, ANI reported.
PM Modi will attend three sessions, according to Kwatra, on food and energy security, digital transformation, and health.
Kwatra stated that according to the current programme, the Bali Summit will include three working sessions at the leaders' level, in which PM Modi will participate. Session topics include food and energy security, digital transmission, and health.
The G20 countries account for around 85% of global GDP, more than 75% of global commerce, and almost two-thirds of the world's population. This year's summit is notable since India will hold the G20 leadership for a year beginning December 1, and the presidency will be handed off during the following summit in Bali.
