New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the 17th G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia from November 14-16 as he will formally take over India's G20 Chairmanship for 2023 starting from December 1. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said, "PM Modi will be attending the 17th G-20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia from tomorrow. India will hold the presidency of G20 for one year starting from 1st December." 


Foreign Secy Vinay Kwatra said that PM Modi and other G20 leaders will discuss important contemporary topics at the Bali Summit, including the status of the world economy, energy, environment, agriculture, health, and digital transformation, news agency ANI reported. 



He further added, "the Bali Summit comprises of 3 working sessions at the leaders' level where the Prime Minister will be participating. These include sessions on food and energy security, digital transformation, and health."




PM Modi will attend several bilateral meetings with the world leaders at the summit to brief them on India's G20 priorities. "PM Modi will attend several bilateral meetings with G20 leaders to brief them on India's evolving G20 priorities as also to review key elements of bilateral engagements with these world leaders," Foreign Secy said.

 

India, Indonesia, and Brazil will be the Troika during India's G20 presidency. Kwatra said, "during our G20 presidency, India, Indonesia, and Brazil would be the Troika. This is the first time in G20 that this Troika would consist of developing countries and emerging economies in a row."



The country holding the chair along with the previous and next chair-holder, referred to as the Troika, ensures the continuity of the G20 agenda. For the first time at the G20, this Troika will include developing nations and rising economies in a row.

 




Kwatra said Modi will speak to and engage with the Indian community on November 15.
