Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Madhya Pradesh has a big role to play in making Bharatiya Janata Party the largest party in the world as he interacted with booth workers of BJP from Bhopal. He congratulated the people of Madhya Pradesh as he inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express trains saying journey from Bhopal to Jabalpur will be faster and more comfortable now. "Today, I am virtually addressing around 10 lakh booth workers of the BJP virtually. No such virtual programme in such an organised manner has never taken place in the history of any political party," he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were also present at the event.

Here are the top quotes from his address:

  • Referring to his recently concluded trips to the US and Egypt, Modi said, "I was being informed about your (workers) efforts. As soon as I came back, I was happy to meet you," adding that workers are BJP's  "strongest power.

  • Underlining the importance of booth level, PM Modi said, "Booth itself is a very big unit. We shouldn't consider a booth insignificant. We should rise above from being just political workers and work towards upliftment of the society."

  • "The information provided by booth workers is the key for successful policy decisions made by the PM or CM," he added.

  • Taking a dig at rivals, Modi said his party workers are not amongst those who sit in air conditioned rooms and run the party "but are the ones who go to remote areas to work in sweltering heat, chilling winters and even during incessant rainfall.”

  • "You are not only the strong soldiers of the BJP, but also of the achievement of country's resolutions."

  • "Our objective is to ensure saturation-level coverage of welfare schemes."

  • "Some people live only for their party as they get a share of corruption and commission."

  • "We want to make India a developed country by 2047, but India will be developed only when its villages will be developed. Hence, it should be the resolution of every village to become developed before 2047."

  • “BJP workers should connect with the regular lives of the people where there is no politics, but only aspiration to move forward. If you connect with their aim to strive, you too will strive."

Ahead of his interaction, Modi took to Twitter to inform regarding the same.

"I will get an opportunity to interact with lakhs of dedicated workers under 'Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot' programme. This opportunity will further empower their resolve for a developed India," Modi said in another tweet in Hindi.

PM Modi earlier on Tuesday reached Bhopal's Rani Kamalapati Railway Station where he falgged off five Vande Bharat Express trains with two of them being for Madhya Pradesh where assembly elections are due for this year. The other three are in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Bihar. This was the first time that so many Vande Bharat trains were launched in a day.

As per the PMO, the five trains that have been launched are Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express.
