PM Modi To Inaugurate State-Of-The-Art Health Facilities In Haryana, Punjab Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Amrita Hospital in Faridabad and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Mohali.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana and Punjab on Wednesday to inaugurate two state-of-the-art health facilities. PM will visit first inaugurate Amrita Hospital in Haryana’s Faridabad at 11 am followed by Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at New Chandigarh (Mullanpur), Mohali at around 2.15 pm.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will also take part in the event in Faridabad. Amrita Hospital, founded by Mata Amritanandamayi ‘Amma’ Math in Sector 88 of Faridabad, will increase the health facilities available for the people of Haryana and also Delhi NCR, Khattar said ahead of its inauguration.
“The process of opening medical colleges in each district is in progress. At present, there are 13 medical colleges in the state and eight medical colleges are under process and there are about 13,000 doctors. The government aims to increase their number to 28,000, which means that 2,650 doctors will be ready every year,” Khattar said.
Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital And Research Centre
The Punjab Police has made tight security arrangements for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mullanpur, officials said on Tuesday. Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre will have a 300-bed facility and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like MRI, CT, Mammography, Digital Radiography and Brachytherapy.
The centre will have all the treatment modalities available for the treatment of every type of cancer which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy and bone marrow transplant. The hospital has been built by the Tata Memorial Center at a cost of over Rs 660 crore.
The hospital will have a daycare facility for chemotherapy, while there will be a minor OT for biopsy and minor surgeries.
It will act as a 'centre' for cancer care and treatment in the region, while a 100-bed hospital at Sangrur will also be attached to it.
