CTI India 2019: PM Modi hails IAF pilot's bravado, says ‘Abhinandan’ will acquire new meaning
The PM expressed his pain and anguish over the fact that many people in the country are still living without a home of their own. He said that it was his dream that every Indian should have a pakka house of their own by 2022.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Construction Technology India (CTI)-2019 Expo-cum-Conference in the national capital New Delhi. Addressing the two day conclave, PM Modi highlighted the several initiatives his government had undertaken in various sectors ranging from housing to cleaning the Ganges .
Giving an account of the exemplary bravado exhibited by IAF's Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman in shooting down a Pak F-16 jet which attempted to target military installations along the Line of Control, PM Modi said the Sanskrit word ‘Abhinandan’ would acquire a new meaning due to what has transpired over past couple of days.
Indicating that the international community takes the country seriously, PM Modi said, “Whatever India does, world watches it closely….It is the power of this nation that it changes the meaning of words. Abhinandan used to mean congratulation, now Abhinandan will have a new meaning.”
PM Modi specifically touched upon the projects which the Centre had taken with an objective to provide basic housing and shelter to citizens across all sections of the society. He added that the world was closely observing the moves taken by India in all sectors.

The PM said that India is one of those countries where the demand of new homes is on a high. He said that the govt has brought in many schemes which will now enable the middle class families to buy their own house. He said that the govt was ensuring that the houses being provided to the poor also have all basic facilities. He urged all citizens to come together to help the poor and develop the country.
Paying heed to the cleanliness mission under the Swaach Ganga Abhiyaan, he said that this country has shown how the banks of river Ganga can remain clean despite heavy crowd during the Kumbh Mela

The Construction Technology India Conference will provide avenues for stakeholders to open up new areas for collaboration and facilitate conversion of ideas into market-ready products. Proven technologies which are identified during CTI - 2019 will be further invited to design and build lighthouse projects of nearly one thousand housing units each in Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh. The conference will also identify innovative and globally established technologies for use in the Indian context.
The two-day event also saw the participation of technology providers, start-ups, researchers, developers, academia, public sector agencies and other domain experts.
