On Security breach in the Parliament, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala says, "Yesterday's incident is highly shocking. It is the duty of the government to come out with a statement in the Parliament. I thought that the Prime Minister or the Home Minister would come to the Parliament with a statement. Yes, the Parliament is under the Speaker, but it is under the government also. It is in the country. Whatever happens in this country should be reflected in the Parliament... I don't know why they are avoiding that. Why are they avoiding a statement? It is the failure of the Home Ministry..."

"We strongly condemn the incident that happened yesterday, it is very unfortunate. The responsibility of this Parliament building comes under the Speaker. He is the custodian of the House. The government is abiding by the directions given by the Speaker," says Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi.
"After moving to the new Parliament building, BAC (Business Advisory Committee) meeting was held and the Speaker proposed that placards will not be allowed, which was unanimously accepted. The decision of the Speaker was violated, following which 13 MPs have been suspended. One MP who was not here was also suspended. Later, it came to my notice that it was a case of mistaken identity and we have dropped that (name)," says Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on suspension of MPs.
On suspension of 15 MPs from the Parliament and addressing the Parliament security breach issue, West Bengal Minister and TMC leader Shashi Panja says, “If you raise questions in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, you won’t get answers, instead, you’ll be suspended just like Mahua Moitra and Derek O’ Brien. Trinamool Congress will not back off, we’re fighting for our country… Have any steps been taken against BJP MP Pratap Simha for providing passes to these accused? Why isn’t he being suspended and questioned?... If someone has done a recce of the new Parliament premises and tried to pull off a stunt like this in the name of a prank, it should not be taken lightly.”
On suspension of 15 MPs from the Parliament, CPI MP Binoy Viswam says, "...It shows that the BJP has no concern for Parliament, no regard for democracy. We are not surprised to see this because they follow the footsteps of Hitler who burned the parliament building in Germany in the 1930s that is the ideology they follow..."

On suspension of 15 MPs from the House, DMK MP TR Baalu says, "They have not done anything wrong. They behaved within the rules and regulations of Parliament. They have not used any unparliamentary words. Their (suspension) is totally wrong..."
A total of 15 MPs were suspended from the Parliament on Thursday for the remainder of the winter session for 'unruly behavior' during the proceedings.
Out of the 15 suspended MPs, 14 are from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha.

The winter session began just a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party swept the Assembly polls in three out of four states — Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
On the tenth day of Parliament's Winter Session, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is to move the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha today for consideration and passing. On the ninth day, the Centre introduced three redrafted bills to replace the existing criminal laws by including various recommendations made by a parliamentary panel.
The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill was introduced first in the Lok Sabha on August 11 along with Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam bills. The three bills seek to replace the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure Act, 1898, and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, respectively.
The Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023 was also passed in the Rajya Sabha, on Tuesday. The Bill, introduced on August 10, aims to regulate the appointment and service terms of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioners (ECs) and replaces the 1991 Act, which lacked provisions related to their appointments.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal clarified that the new bill addresses the shortcomings of the previous Act and aligns with the Supreme Court's direction. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023 was also passed in the Lok Sabha.
