Parliament on Monday, passed the Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, mandating use of non-fossil energy sources and carbon credit trading.
RBI stopped printing the 2,000 rupee currency notes three years back. There is information that people have hoarded the notes and using them for terror funding, drug trafficking, and black money, BJP MP Sushil Modi said on Monday. "If we look at major developed economies like US, China, Germany, Japan, they do not have any currency denomination above 100. So Central government should think about it and ban it in a phased manner so that people have time to replace it with other smaller denominations," he said.

Of 60,202 postgraduate (PG) medical seats available for 2021-2022, 3,744 remained vacant after counselling, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
