'No Direction Or Vision': Kharge Speaks In RS On Motion Of Thanks To President's Address
Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge said there was nothing for Dalits, minority sections and the backward class in President Droupadi Murmu's speech to the joint session of Parliament.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday remarked that the President's address to the joint session of the Parliament neither had direction nor vision and was just full of words of appreciation for the government. Speaking in Rajya Sabha on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, Kharge said there was nothing for Dalits, minority sections and the backward class in President Droupadi Murmu's speech.
"The President is the most important part of the Parliament, we respect the President. This year the President’s first address was in January and second in June. The first address was for elections and the second was a copy of it," Kharge said.
"There was nothing for Dalits, minority sections and the backward classes in her address. There was neither vision nor direction in the President's address. Like the last time, it was just about full of words of appreciation for the government," said the Congress President.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge said that the former is expert only in giving slogans. "Manipur burning from last one year but PM did not visit state," he said.
Kharge quipped the Narendra Modi-led government over a slew of issues including exam paper leaks, cancellation of many examinations, train accident, three terror attacks in Jammu & Kashmir, leakages in Ram temple, collapse of canopy at three airports, increase in toll taxes and depreciation of rupee.
The Leader of Opposition in the Upper House accused the PM of trying to divide the society through his speeches during polls.
