Parliament Monsoon Session HIGHLIGHTS: Amid continuous uproar by opposition members over Pegasus spying row and farmers' issue, the government on Thursday pushed ahead with its legislative business as the House passed two bills without a debate. The Lok Sabha passed two bills before the proceedings were adjourned for the day amid continuous protests by opposition members over the Pegasus spying row and farmers' issue.
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill 2021 and The Inland Vessels Bill, 2021 were passed without debate.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia moved the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2021. Similarly, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal moved the Inland Vessels Bill, 2021, which seeks to provide safety of navigation, protection of life and cargo and prevention of pollution that may be caused.
On Monday too, Lok Sabha had passed Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020, and the National Institutes of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management Bill, 2021 without a discussion amid uproar by the opposition over various issues.
Opposition parties meet tomorrow at 9.45 am
Floor leaders from Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha of all like-minded opposition parties to meet tomorrow at 9.45 am, to discuss the strategy of the opposition on Pegasus and other issues. Meeting will be held at Rajya Sabha LoPs Office in Parliament

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu expresses concern over parliament disruptions
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu today expressed concern over about 90 members of the House being denied opportunities to raise issues of public importance even after their notices were admitted by him, due to persistent disruption of proceedings of the House.
A total of 69 Zero Hour mentions, including 12 admitted for today and 23 Special Mentions by as many members, admitted by the Chairman could not be raised in the House during the last week and today due to persistent disruptions, RS Chairman gave details in this regard.
The Chairman observed that "(In the four sittings held last week) In Zero Hour, as many as 57 matters of 63 members were permitted. However, none could be raised due to the disruption of proceedings.
He further informed the House that out of the 31 Special Mentions admitted so far, only 8 could be laid on the Table of the House on Tuesday last week while the rest could not be mentioned in the House.
Chairman Naidu also expressed concern over MPs of the House being denied opportunity to seek clarifications from Minister of IT on the statement laid on the Table of the House on Thursday last week regarding "Compromise on phone data of some persons as reported by media".
