Congress MP Mallu Ravi said that the opposition has asked the Civil Aviation Minister to put a cap on the flight ticket prices hike.
"Today, the private members will come to the house for discussion regarding the extraordinary rise in flight ticket prices depending on market demand. If the rate is about Rs 10,000 when there is demand, all airlines are increasing the rate to Rs 20,000 to Rs 60,000. This is not fair because there must be some cap on the price hike. They can’t raise it to a level where passengers can’t afford it... We have requested the Civil Aviation Minister to put a cap on the rate hike," he said.
Union Minister Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad said that Agniveer is a good scheme and slammed the opposition for doing politics over it. "Today is an important day, Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on this day...A scheme like Agniveer is very good...The opposition always does politics," he said.
Reacting to the Ramanagara name change issue, BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya said: " Ramanagara is a good name, don't know what kind of allergy our Karnataka leaders have with the name 'Ram'...we don't have any objection towards naming it Bengaluru South but the kind of problems Bengaluru is facing like the situation of roads, shortage of drinking water and law and order issues...we just hope these issues don't reach Bengaluru South..."

TMC MP Saugata Roy commented on the Agnipath scheme: "...The opposition is opposing the Agnipath scheme. It is the spoiling the future of the young men in the country..."
Congress MPs staged a protest against the Centre over alleged discrimination in allocation for states in the Union Budget 2024.
Azad Samaj Party MP Chandra Shekhar Aazad slammed the UP and Rajasthan government for not taking action on the increased cases of murders of Dalits and tribals in the states. He said: "Dalits, tribals, backward people and Muslims are being murdered in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The state governments are hiding their faces. It is the government’s responsibility to protect its vulnerable citizens but instead cases are being subverted by the police on the government’s direction."
TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha hit out at Centre over the budget saying, "There is no doubt that Mamata Banerjee is one of the most popular leaders in the country...She will raise her voice at the NITI Aayog meeting.A lot of atrocities have taken place. In the Union budget, various decisions were taken to satisfy the alliance partners...Various states like Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Telangana, and West Bengal have been ignored...No money is being given to West Bengal...This is a 'Kursi Bachao budget'..."
Samajwadi Party MP Harendra Singh Malik said in the Lok Sabha that farmers are seated along Shambhu borders and the roads are being barricaded. "Annadattas" are being attacked at the borders, he stated.
The SP MP raised the demand for a legal guarantee of MSP and, extension of Agniveer services from four to 20 or 25 years. Malik also said children of poor people are hindered from pursuing MBBS as it costs crores.
Minister for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Rajiv Ranjan Singh lashed out at the Opposition and said, "Instead of discussing the Budget, MPs of the Opposition are acting as if they hate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face. However, the entire country likes him and has given him the responsibility for the third time...The Budget lays the path for PM Modi's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision."
Congress Haryana MP Jai Prakash raised the issue of diesel price hike in the Lok Sabha on Friday. Terming the Union Budget "anti-farmer" and "anti-youth," Prakash demanded a legal guarantee for MSP.
On Valmiki irregularities matter raised in Rajya Sabha by him, BJP MP from Karnataka, Iranna Kadadi says, "Every day there is a new scam in Karnataka. On this, I gave a notice under rule 267 in the House today. The House Chairman said that permission is not given under rule 267 and told me to speak during Zero Hour. All INDIA parties' leaders caused a ruckus and did not hear me. I think they are against SCs/STs. There should be a CBI inquiry into this matter and the (Karnataka) CM should resign taking moral responsibility."
Congress MP Amrinder Singh Warring asked a question about whether medicines for cancer patients below the poverty line can be made free. "It takes crores of rupees and why are reducing price instead of making it free," Warring said.
In response to the query, JP Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has taken many steps such as cancer care units, and Ayushmann Bharat. 50 crore people have been assisted by the government. Steps are being taken to add poor people to the schemes as well.
During the question hour in the Lok Sabha, Congress Haryana MP Deepinder Hooda raised a question on whether the External Affairs Ministry is concerned about Indian citizens entering the US from Canada without visas and documents
Kirtivardhan Singh, MoS for External Affairs said a portal has been setup for emigration and a helpline was set up. "We recommend all nationals to use the e-migrate services that need to be done by citizens and we can't be held responsible for citizens venturing into US borders," Singh says.
During the question hour in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan raised a question on the utilisation of funds for workers who have gone abroad.
Responding to the query, Kirtivardhan Singh, MoS of External Affairs, said the government has taken many crucial steps and added each migrant feels safe and secure in foreign countries. Regarding the Kuwait tragedy, Singh said it was an internal matter of the Middle Eastern country, and the mortal remains were returned to India swiftly.
The proceedings in the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12:30 PM following a ruckus in the House.

In Lok Sabha, former Punjab CM and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi speaks on 'Waris Punjab De' Chief and independent MP from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat Amritpal Singh.
He says, "They speak about Emergency every day. But what about the undeclared Emergency in the country today?...This too is Emergency that a man who was elected as an MP by 20 lakh people in Punjab is behind bars under the NSA. He is unable to present the views of the people of his constituency, here. This too is Emergency."
Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala says, "They do not want to listen in Parliament. Insult to Parliament, democracy and the Constitution, and trampling on Constitutional decorum is something that the Modi Government does every day and then they ask questions...Those who crush the Constitution and democracy under bulldozer - will they protect Constitution and democracy?...They get all their absurd decisions recommended through the NITI Aayog...The Budget has become 'kursi bachao, saathi patao aur badla lete jaao' budget. The Lok Sabha was adjourned twice in the post-lunch period on Thursday as a war of words broke out between the treasury and opposition benches, triggered by Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi's spat with BJP's Ravneet Singh Bittu.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for 30 minutes amid a verbal spat between Congress member Charanjeet Singh Channi and the BJP's Ravneet Singh Bittu over certain personal remarks.
Participating in a debate on a discussion on the Union Budget, Channi referred to the assasination of Bittu's grandfather, former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. This led to a war of words between Bittu, who recently quit the Congress to join the BJP, and Channi.
Bittu, the Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, countered by making certain personal remarks against Channi and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, triggering an uproar. BJP member Sandhya Ray, who was in the chair, adjourned the proceedings for 30 minutes till 2 pm.
Proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are set to resume on Friday at 11 AM. The opposition bloc INDIA is expected to continue its attack on Centre over the Union Budget announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The discussion on the Union Budget 2024-25, which was presented on July 23, will also continue on Friday. The House proceedings will resume at the Lok Sabha at 11 AM on July 26.
On Thursday, the Lok Sabha was adjourned twice in the post-lunch period as a war of words broke out between the treasury and opposition benches, which was triggered by Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi's stand off with the BJP MoS Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Speaking in a debate on the Union Budget, Channi had referred to the assassination of Bittu's grandfather, former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, saying that he had died on the day Bittu joined BJP.
This led to a stand off between the two with Congress leaders challenging Bittu for a fight. When Bittu, the Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, countered Channi's remarks by making certain personal remarks against the Congress MP.
Channi had also compared the PM Modi-led government to British Raj saying that there was no difference between the British Raj and the present PM Modi-led government "except the skin colour". He also slammed the government for its "dictatorial attitude".
Bittu responded to this saying his remarks suggested he talking about senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, asking He the grand old party to prove which country she came to India from. This triggered the row further.
Following this, BJP member Sandhya Ray, who was in the chair, adjourned the proceedings for 30 minutes till 2 PM.
When the House reconvened, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged the speaker to remove any unparliamentary references and continue with the debate.
Speaker Om Birla also asked the treasury and the opposition members to maintain the dignity of the House and directed ministers to not break the rules.
The Congress MP also accused the ruling party members of obstructing his speech and went on to allege that the Centre was overlooking farmers.
As he alleged that National Security Act provisions were invoked against protesting farmers, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju asked him to authenticate the allegations, accusing Channi of misleading the House. Rijiju also urged the chair to move a privilege motion against Channi.
The war of words continued between the ruling and the opposition benches even after Channi concluded his speech, as a result of which the chair adjourned the House till 3 PM.
