Pakistan's one of the leading news channels Dawn TV was reportedly hacked by fraudsters on Sunday evening. According to the several media reports, soon after the channel was hacked, an advertisement was running on the screen which was overlapped by the image of the Indian National Flag flying with glory in the air along with the 'Happy Independence Day' message written underneath.

As per the reports, the mishap on the TV channel in Pakistan happened at about 3:30 PM on Sunday afternoon. It has not been confirmed that for how long the Dawn TV channel remained hacked. However, the officials ordered an immediate probe into the matter.

Dawn News put out a tweet in Urdu saying "The Dawn administration has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter."

Speaking over the incident, the channel authorities in a statement reportedly said, "It was broadcasting as usual when suddenly the Indian flag and the text of Happy Independence Day appeared on the commercial running on the screen and remained there for some time and then disappeared.

"Dawn News is investigating the sudden broadcast of Indian flags and Happy Independence Day text on its screen," the statement added.

Meanwhile, several videos and screenshots of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

Earlier this week, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan faced the ire of social media trollers after he announced that the country’s army has been deployed to clean the rain hit Karachi. Netizens excoriated him for deploying the military to do a job in which the municipal authorities and the relief authorities lacked skill in.

Heavy rains wrecked the city on Monday by causing severe waterlogging. According to media reports, the streets were flooded with waist-deep water and the rainwater has also mixed with sewage. Three people also died of electrocution.
