100 Cr Vaccination: More than 100 crore corona vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far. While the BJP is campaigning vigorously on this significant feat, Congress has slammed the Centre for "misleading the country on vaccinations" when only 21 per cent of the country's population was fully inoculated.

Congress has even asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring out a white paper on how his government intends to vaccinate all adults by year-end, a promise made by the ruling dispensation earlier.

Slamming the Modi government, Congress national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh said that nothing is free in this country. "This is taxpayers' money. Taxpayers' money is being spent on taxpayers only. That's why it's not free. Free would have been when the BJP ran a free vaccination campaign with the money it was getting from electoral bonds."

"You have collected a tax of Rs 33 lakh crore on petrol and diesel. Only two percent of the money i.e. about Rs. 35 thousand crore were spent on vaccination. The vaccination certificate should not have a photo of PM Modi, but it should have a photo of a person who is funding the vaccination by making oil. If you believe that vaccination is being funded with oil money," Vallabh said.

Vallabh also pointed out that India is not the first country to have achieved a 100-cr vaccination milestone.

The Congress leader said there are only two countries having more than 50 crore population and the claim that India is the first country to achieve 100-crore plus vaccinations is "false" as China had achieved 216 crore doses of vaccinations in September.

"The fact is that not even 50 per cent of our country's population has received a single dose of the vaccine. So, should it be time for celebrations," the Congress leader asked.

"So far, only 21 per cent of people in our country have received both doses of the vaccine, while in China, 80 per cent of the population received both doses a month ago. There is no vaccine for children yet. The vaccination rate has been declining for the last 10 days," he pointed out.
