On FB, Kolkata Metro says against moral policing then comments fallout result of vulgarity
The now deleted comment says "Not only in the Metro, but also in other places similar incident will happen if the young generation does not get themselves rectified"
NEW DELHI: After an incident where a couple was thrashed for hugging in the metro, the Kolkata Metro on their Facebook post said that they are “AGAINST MORAL POLICING”. Soon after that, from the same account, a long comment was posted which said "The incident was a result of year-long vulgarity shown by a section of the younger generation… such incidents would continue to happen until the younger generation got themselves ‘rectified’".
While the comment was deleted later, screenshots of the same comment are now circulating widely on various social media sites.
The deleted post says “What wrong has been done by the passengers. Nothing. It is the inevitable fallout of year-long vulgarity shown by a section of young generation. In Metro train, most of the young generation people do not know decency and good manner. To speak in English does not mean civilisation. Good qualities are totally lacking in young generation people and morality a distant dream. In their attitude, arrogance and ‘don’t’ care gesture are very evident. Not only in the Metro, but also in other places similar incident will happen if the young generation does not get themselves rectified.”
The moral policing in the Kolkata metro took place when elderly co-passengers objected to their hugging in public and following a heated argument, a livid mob gathered and beat up the couple at the next stop.
