New Delhi: International travellers from "at-risk countries" will now be subjected to a week of home quarantine, followed by RT-PCR testing on the last day. According to a Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai rule, any passenger who violates the home quarantine standards would be moved to obligatory institutional quarantine and may face legal punishment.
According to the most recent update, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will receive from the Mumbai Airport authorities a list of international passengers arriving in the city in the last 24 hours from "high-risk countries" and "at-risk countries," as well as those who have visited these countries in the previous 15 days.
All travellers who have stated the MCGM geographical area in their address will be included on the list.
The daily list of travellers will also be distributed to all 24 ward war rooms and medical officers of health, who will check on the quarantined persons on a daily basis through phone calls and personal visits. Medical teams with ambulances will also be dispatched on a regular basis to ensure that passengers are following the guidelines.
"The Ward War Room teams will telephonically call all the passengers throughout their home quarantine 5 times a day, to monitor their health status. Medical teams & ambulances shall be provided regularly," reads the revised guidelines.
