New Delhi: The swearing-in ceremony of the new Odisha cabinet took place today at the Convention Center at the Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. A total of 21 ministers of which 13 were from the cabinet and eight other ministers took oath today in presence of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, news agency ANI reported.
The swearing-in ceremony took place hours after the previous cabinet resigned as part of a reshuffle.
According to a report by ANI, it was the first time in history that a whole cabinet stepped down at the same time in order to make space for new faces both younger and senior. The move was made in an attempt to prepare for the upcoming general and assembly elections that are scheduled for the same year in 2024.
The reshuffle in the cabinet came after the Naveen Patnaik government has completed its three years in the fifth consecutive term.
As per ANI, in these 25 years, he has carved a niche for himself. Today, in India and abroad, Naveen Patnaik is seen as a role model of governance, whose work speaks. He has often said that he speaks less as he believes his work should speak. While others in the political realm give long speeches, his speeches rarely cross the five-minute mark. He speaks less and works more. A simple man whose journey has created history for India and the world.
All Advisors/Chairpersons etc. of 23 different departments/Corporations/ Boards etc shall cease to be in office with effect from June 5th (Sunday), Planning & Convergence Department has issued an official notification, after the order passed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, read order by the state government.
