Kolkata: TMC politician and Bengali actress Nusrat Jahan finally broke her silence regarding her separation from husband Nikhil Jain. The TMC MP released a statement, revealing that her marriage with Nikhil was according to Turkish Law and is not valid in India.
In a long statement, she has alleged that her belongings, like family jewelry and other assets, have been illegally held back, and her funds were mishandled from various accounts without her knowledge.

"Our separation happened long back, but I did not speak about it as I intended to keep my private life to myself," she said.
Nusrat Jahan married businessman Nikhil Jain in Bodrum of Turkey in 2019 after she made her political debut winning the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. A reception was also held in Kolkata which chief minister Mamata Banerjee attended. The wedding ceremony was done as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the MP clarified.
After rumours of Nusrat's pregnancy spread, some news channels contacted Nikhil who said he was not aware of the pregnancy as they were not in contact for many months.
"I would never speak up about my personal life or anyone I am not related to. Thus, people who call themselves “normal people” must not entertain anything which is not related to them," Nusrat said.
