Nirav Modi traveled on Indian passport between London and Brussels on June 12

Nirav Modi's passport was revoked on February 24, the CBI also moved the Interpol on June 11 for a red corner notice.

New Delhi: Diamond merchant Nirav Modi, who has been under scanner for duping Punjab National Bank with Rs 13,700 crore scam travelled on his ‘revoked’ Indian Passport as recently as June 12. As per sources, Modi took a Eurostar high-speed train from London to Brussels. Indian officials verified the same from European immigration authorities who captured Modi’s passport details on his trip to Brussels. This has led the sleuths to unearth that of the six passports he held, two were active for quite some time. The four other passports were found to be not active, sources said. Nirav Modi's passport was revoked on February 24, the CBI also moved the Interpol on June 11 for a red corner notice. Agencies probing the alleged USD 2-billion PNB fraud have detected that the absconding diamond merchant possessed at least half-a-dozen Indian passports and a fresh FIR is being mulled against him for this offence. Modi has been traced to Belgium by Indian intelligence agencies and his frequent travels, despite the revocation of his passport. Of the two active passports, one had Modi's full name while the other only had his first name with a 40-month UK visa issued against it and that is probably how he kept travelling to various countries, despite the government revoking his first known passport earlier this year, the sources said.
