NIA Attaches Lands Of Two Individuals Under UAPA In Jammu And Kashmir's Pulwama
The probe agency attached the properties of two persons under the anti-terror law after an order by a special NIA court on Sept 30 this year.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday attached several properties of two individuals namely Mohd Tika Khan and Mohd Shafi Wani in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), reported PTI citing officials. The immovable properties were attached on the orders of the special NIA court in Jammu on Sept 30, 2023, they said.
The NIA has so far attached two landed properties (orchards) measuring around 20,000 square feet in Kakapora, officials added, as per the agency

NIA's Crack Down On Human Trafficking In Eight States
On Wednesday, the NIA busted five modules engaged in human trafficking and arrested 44 operatives in its nationwide raids, an official said. The raids were conducted in coordination with the BSF and state police forces at 55 locations in eight states and two union territories, a spokesperson of the agency said.
The raids were carried out in Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Rajasthan and the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry, as per a PTI report.
According to the report, official sources said a couple of more people, including a Rohingya Muslim from Myanmar identified as Zaffar Alam, were detained during the raids in Jammu and Samba districts. The federal agency said that out of the 44 operatives arrested, 21 were in Tripura, followed by 10 in Karnataka, five in Assam, three in West Bengal, two in Tamil Nadu, and one each in Puducherry, Telangana, and Haryana.
