New Parliament Will Witness The Dawn Of Aatmanirbhar Bharat: PM Modi's First Address In New Lok Sabha

In his first address at the new Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the new complex will also contribute to the world's progress.

Parliament Inauguration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation from the Lok Sabha in the newly-inaugurated Parliament. He released a stamp and Rs 75 coin in the new complex. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the new building will witness the dawn of a self-reliant India. He said that the new Parliament will also lead to the development of the world through the development of India. Earlier in the day, PM Modi installed the historic 'Sengol' near Lok Sabha Speaker's chair. He also unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

He began his address by saying, "In the development journey of every country, some moments come which become immortal. 28th May is such a day"

"This is not just a complex, it represents the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. It shows the world our determination. It is the temple of democracy," the Prime Minister emphasised. This new Parliament will witness the dawn of a self-reliant India, he added.

Talking about the 'sengol' installed in Parliament today, he mentioned that in the Chola dynasty, the 'Sengol' symbolised justice, righteousness, and good governance.

"It is our good fortune that we have been able to restore the pride of the holy 'Sengol'. Whenever proceedings start in this House the 'Sengol' will inspire us," PM Modi said.

He said that when India moves forward, the world moves forward and hence, the new Parliament will also lead to the development of the world through the development of India. "Along with India, the new Parliament building will also contribute to the world's progress," he emphasised.

PM Modi mentioned that the construction of the new Parliament building gave employment to 60,000 workers and a digital gallery dedicated to them has been built. New Parliament building was the need of the hour to create space for more MPs to be accommodated when the number increases in the future, he stated.

Every decision taken in this Parliament will decide the fate of all sections of society, laws made here will help eradicate poverty, PM Modi said.

According to the Prime Minister, the New Parliament building is a perfect example of the co-existence of the old and new.

New Parliament Inaugurated, 'Sengol' Placed In Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the new Parliament building and dedicated it to the nation. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla accompanied the Prime Minister during the ceremony that began with Puja. After Puja, the PM and LS speaker Birla entered the new Lok Sabha where PM Modi installed the historic 'Sengol' near Speaker's chair. Later, the Prime Minister unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

After inaugurating the new parliament building, the Prime Minister honoured and felicitated workers who were involved in the construction of the new Parliament building.

PM Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union ministers, and Chief Ministers of different States attended a multi-faith prayer meeting.

The move for the Prime Minister to inaugurate the new Parliament building has been criticised by nearly 20 opposition parties such as the Congress, Left, TMC, SP, and AAP who have chosen not to attend the inauguration ceremony.
