New Parliament Building Inauguration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building today. Various distinguished guests, such as senior ministers, representatives of 25 political factions, as well as religious figures, are anticipated to grace the inauguration ceremony with their presence.


Earlier on Friday, PM Modi shared a glimpse of the new parliament building ahead of its inauguration.

1. The Sunday morning's event will commence with a religious ceremony including a havan and a prayer incorporating various beliefs. 


2. After the havan and prayers, PM Modi will formally inaugurate the newly constructed Parliament building.

5. The Lok Sabha secretariat has reported that the facility was built in record time, boasts of advanced amenities, and provides a larger area compared to the old one built in 1927.

7. The capacity of the newly constructed Lok Sabha can now host up to 888 members. The current one only has room for 543 members. 


8. The new structure of the Rajya Sabha incorporates a seating capacity of 300 members. The old building could seat 250 MPs. 


9. The Lok Sabha chamber, with a seating capacity of 1,280 MPs, will host the upcoming joint session of Parliament.


10. The inauguration ceremony Sunday will see the presence of a total of 25 political parties, of which 18 are part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance. In addition, there will be seven political parties outside the NDA that will be present.
