New Delhi: Breaching decency of language, BJP legislator from Uttar Pradesh Sadhana Singh gave an offensive statement against former UP Chef Minister and BSP Supremo Mayawati regarding the latter’s appearance. While addressing a public meeting Singh said that Mayawati neither looks like a man nor a woman. The statement has sparked outrage among BSP leaders who said that BJP leaders have stooped to a new low. Akhiliesh Yadav too criticised Singh for her offensive comment and said it reflected the ethical bankruptcy of the party.

While addressing the meeting, BJP MLA from Mughalsarai also took a jibe at the freshly stitched SP-BSP alliance and said that in spite of being humiliated by the Samajwadi Party in the infamous 1995 Lucknow guest house case, she joined hands with the same people.  She also went on to call Mayawati a blot in the name of women.

NCW takes suo moto cognisance:

Akhilesh Yadav hits back at BJP

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter to hit back at BJP for the offensive comment by its female legislator. Akhilesh said in a tweet "the offensive remarks by BJP MLA from Mughalsarai is highly unfortunate. It reflects ethical bankruptcy of BJP and the party's frustration. It is an insult to the women of the country."

Outrage among BSP leaders

Reacting to Sadhana Singh’s statement, BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra said that the choice of words by the BJP legislator shows the level of BJP. He said that after the announcement of this coalition (SP-BSP), BJP leaders have lost their mental balance and they should be admitted to mental hospitals in Agra and Bareilly. He said that BJP does not have strength to win even a single seat in the upcoming elections and is terrified by the alliance of SP and BSP.

BJP worried after SP-BSP alliance, says Akhilesh

Meanwhile, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav also sought to give a reply to the BJP questioning the opposition parties about their prime ministerial candidate. He said the coming together of the SP and the BSP has led to a wave of happiness in the country and left a worried BJP to hold meeting after meeting to devise a strategy to win even one seat in Uttar Pradesh.

"They ask, who is PM candidate of opposition parties... We say people will decide the PM candidate from our side. But from their side, this name (Narendra Modi) has disappointed the country, who is your another name?" Yadav said.

The SP chief sat on the dais next to BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, who was participating in the rally as a representative of his party chief Mayawati.
