Navi Mumbai: Shiv Sena corporator Namdev Bhagat accused of molesting 19-year-old

Maharashtra: A case has been filed against Shiv Sena Corporator Namdev Bhagat for allegedly molesting a girl in Navi Mumbai’s Nerul.   As per the 19-year-old complainant, she ‘went to Uran with Bhagat for some work, but on reaching he started molesting her’. The woman reported the matter in Uran police station, where the cops have filed the case under section 354. So far, the councillor is free and hasn’t been arrested. Also, no comment has come from Sena on the incident. More details on the same are awaited. The incident comes a day after a former Shiv Sena corporator Shrikant Pangarkar was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in connection with the seizure of crude bombs and weapons from different parts of the state between August 9 and 11. Later, Pangarkar was arrested under the Explosives Act, the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Three persons - Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar and Sudhanwa Gondhalekar - were arrested from Palghar and Pune districts on August 10 in connection with the seizure of bombs and weapons. All three are in ATS custody till August 28.
