PM Modi Visits Zydus, Bharat Biotech, SII Labs To Review Corona Vaccine Development - All You Need To Know

Coronavirus Vaccine: Amid the rising cases of coronavirus, PM Modi visited 3 cities of the country to take stock of Covid-19 vaccine development status. As per reports, PM Modi spent over an hour at the plant in Ahmedabad, before leaving for Hyderabad. Last, but not the least, PM Modi reached Pune later in the day to review coronavirus vaccine development in India. After landing at Pune airport around 4.30 pm from Hyderabad, Modi proceeded to the Serum Institute of India (SII) by helicopter.

PM Modi's visit to Zydus Cadila at Ahmedabad 

PM Narendra Modi first visited pharma major Zydus Cadila's manufacturing facility near Ahmedabad, as he began his three-city visit to review ongoing coronavirus vaccine development work. Wearing a PPE kit, PM Modi reviewed the vaccine development process at the Zydus Cadila research centre in Changodar industrial area, over 20 km from Ahmedabad. After his arrival at Ahmedabad airport from Delhi shortly after 9 am, PM Modi flew to the Zydus Cadila plant and held discussions with the promoters and executives of the company, according to reports.

PM's visit to Bharat Biotech at Hyderabad

After landing in Hyderabad at Hakimpet Air Force station, PM Modi was received by Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Director General of Police, and other officials. He proceeded to Bharat Biotech's facility located at Genome valley, a life sciences cluster about 20 km from the AF base.

PM's visit to Serum Institute of India (SII) at Pune

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Pune on Saturday on the last leg of his three-city visit to review coronavirus vaccine development in India. Modi's visit to SII is aimed at reviewing the progress of the vaccine candidate for coronavirus infection and to know about its launch, production and distribution mechanism, an official said. Serum Institute of India has partnered with global pharma giant AstraZeneca and Oxford University for the vaccine. PM Modi will now fly back to Delhi from Pune in the evening.
