New Delhi: A day after party revoked the suspension of party leader Mani Shankar Aiyar after 9 months, the veteran leader said that his “status in the party isn’t worth a penny”.
Speaking on his return in the party, Aiyar said “I have been given only primary membership in the party, and have not been given any other role”.
Speaking further on his suspension, he said that his views against the government are his personal views and he has all the right to hold views against someone.
On being questioned on the election of new Pakistani Prime Minister he said, “The relations between India and Pakistan will not improve till new government takes oath in 2019”.
BJP spokesperson Samit Patra on Sunday stated revocation of Aiyar’s suspension as “Return of Rahul Gandhi’s love in the party”.
Aiyar was condemned and suspended from the party after he used the word “neech” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had to face a lot of flak and criticism even from the opposition over the same.
