New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with women self-help groups and said his dream is to make two crore 'lakhpati didis'. 

While addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Varanasi, PM Modi suggested that training women of self-help groups to serve food to guests at events could lead to a reduction in food wastage and ensure good service.

"In recent times, the trend of buffets at events has emerged. People feel they won't get more, so they fill their plates and end up leaving half of the food. If the women in your self-help group receive training in serving food and are equipped with aprons and gloves, it can lead to a reduction in food wastage and ensure excellent service," he said while speaking to a woman from the group.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also flagged off four trains at the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Varanasi, including the second Vande Bharat train between Varanasi and New Delhi. The latest Vande Bharat train will have a host of features, including plush interiors, bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free conveniences, diffused LED lighting, and charging points beneath every seat, among others.

PM Modi also inaugurated the newly built Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi's Umraha. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present with PM Modi during the occasion.

Speaking at the occasion, PM Modi said, "Under the aegis of seers, people of Kashi have set new records of progress and development. The government, society, and saints are working together for Kashi's transformation."

"India is a country that has been an example of economic prosperity and progress for centuries in the world," he added.
