Muslim population reached such level that now they should be removed from minority list: BJP's Giriraj Singh

New Delhi: The BJP leader Giriraj Singh, in this political environment when elections are going on in UP and Manipur, has given a controversial statement. Making a polarising comment, he tweeted that the population of the Muslims has reached such level in the country that now they should be removed from minority category. "Today country needs a debate on the very definition of minority", he said. He cited the Pew Research Center study which said that 'By 2050, India will have most Muslims in world'. Because Muslims have the youngest median age (30) of all religious groups, they are the fastest-growing such group in the world, and by 2050 , India will be the country with the world's largest Muslim population, said Pew Research Centre, an American think tank, recently.
