Muslim girl Tanzeem Meerani vows to unfurl 'tiranga' at Srinagar's Lal Chowk once again

New Delhi: Tanzeem Meerani, 14-year-old, hailing from Ahmedabad, has vowed to hoist the tricolor at Lal Chowk in Srinagar amidst the ongoing unrest in the state. Her determination is not waivered by the current situation rather she has decided to host the Indian flag on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan this time.

Last year too, Merani attempted to hoist the tricolor in Srinagar on August 15. Irritated over raising of Pakistani flags by anti-India elements at Lal Chowk on a regular basis, Merani decided to pay Pakistani supporters back in their own coin. She, along with her family, decided to unfurl the tricolor. However, last time she was barred from doing so.
She quoted that last time she was stopped at the airport itself and she had to unfurl the flag there. However, she will make sure that she does it this time at Lal Chowk.
Likewise earlier, this time also she has threatened to sit on hunger strike in case authorities stop her again from unfurling the tricolor in Srinagar.
