PM Modi, Akhilesh Yadav Condole Demise Of Urdu Poet Munawwar Rana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Akhilesh Yadav, Congress party expressed their condolence on the demise of renowned Urdu poet Munawar Rana.
Political leaders from across the spectrum condoled the demise of renowned Urdu poet Munawwar Rana who breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 71. He was undergoing treatment at Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) where he eventually passed away on Sunday. Rana was suffering from throat cancer for a long time.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolence on the demise of the poet.
"Pained by the passing away of Shri Munawwar Rana Ji," said PM Modi in a post on X.
"He made rich contributions to Urdu literature and poetry. Condolences to his family and admirers. May his soul rest in peace," he added.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav paid a "heartfelt tribute" to Rana.
"The demise of the country's renowned poet Munnavar Rana ji is extremely heartbreaking. Wishing peace to the departed soul. Heartfelt tribute," he wrote on X.

Born on November 26, 1952, in Uttar Pradesh' Rae Bareli, Rana gained recognition for his thought-provoking and emotionally charged verses.
