No arrest has been made so far and investigation is currently underway.
New Delhi: A singer named Yash Wadali was booked for allegedly molesting a 39-year-old woman in Mumbai.
On the basis of the woman’s complaint, a case has been registered against the 27-year-old under Sections 354 and 504 of IPC.
The woman reportedly said she had never met Wadali before this incident.
"I did not want any unpleasantness and gave him time to calm down. I thought he had consumed a drink too many. But a little later, he grabbed my shirt collar and pulled me before pushing me back. He started abusing again. Everyone in the house ganged up against me and I started to cry. I was asked to leave the flat which I did as I was concerned about my safety. From the car downstairs, I called up the police," the victim was quoted in a Times of India report.
According to an Asian Age report, "The incident took place early on Wednesday morning at Garden Estate, Goregaon, when the complainant was at a birthday party with Yash Wadali, according to the police. The two did not know each other. Yash Wadali, who was allegedly drunk, began singing a song on seeing the complainant. The woman reprimanded him for singing the song and asked him to back off. But Wadali allegedly said that he was only appreciating her beauty and she should not take offence, said the police."
The singer is related to the famous Wadali brothers.
