MP Congress' u-turn on Vande Mataram order; now 'police band, civilians will also participate'
The announcement further read that the same shall be done in state secretariat at 10:45am. It said that tunes which arouse national sentiments will be played by the band between Shaurya Samarak and Vallabh Bhawan.
New Delhi: Only two days after newly elected Kamal Nath led Congress government discontinued the norm of singing Vande Mataram in the state assembly, the party has taken a U-turn on the same and has announced that Vande Mataram would be sung on the first working day of every month in the secretariat with the participation of police band and public.
The announcement further read that the same shall be done in state secretariat at 10:45am. It said that tunes which arouse national sentiments will be played by the band between Shaurya Samarak and Vallabh Bhawan.
This comes after the party drew flak for discontinuing the practice. Taking on the government, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan he and all other BJP MLAs will sing "Vande Mataram" on the first day of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly session, if the Congress-led state government does not restore the practice of reciting it at the secretariat.
Targeting Nath over the issue, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya said the chief minister should clarify why his government wants to change the "good tradition". "I suspect the chief minister has come under pressure of those who always say that their religious sentiments get hurt by singing this song," he told reporters in Indore. @CMMadhyaPradesh #jansamparkMP pic.twitter.com/GKPC6YoKKw
