Mother Dairy revises milk prices in Delhi
New Delhi: Mother Dairy has hiked its milk prices in Delhi NCR by rupee one for both half and one litre pouch. This hike will be in effect from Saturday.
However, the prices of Bulk Vended Milk (BVM) commonly referred as Token Milk and Cow Milk comprising of over 30 percent of Mother Dairy's total milk sales will remain unchanged.
The revision in price is for key Poly Pack Milk variants.
The last consumer price revision in Delhi NCR was taken in May 2014 and since then; the company has been retaining the prices.
It is important to note that the company has also increased its farm prices by about seven-eight percent in last one year while the effective consumer price hike is not more than three percent.
The new effective prices will see an increase of Re 1/litre (1000 ml pack) and to facilitate change management, the prices of 500 ml packs have also been revised and rounded off to the nearest rupee.
It is pertinent to note that Mother Dairy passes close to 80 percent of the sales realization from milk towards the procurement of milk.
As a responsible organization, Mother Dairy has always attempted to strike a right balance between the consumers' interest and the milk producers' interest.
The company believes in giving competitive and remunerative price to the farmer to ensure sustainability of dairying while ensuring availability of safe milk for consumers.
Mother Dairy's token milk which is the safest form of branded loose milk (toned milk) will not undergo any price revision.
This token milk from Mother Dairy also assists in saving the environment by reducing on the plastic that goes into packaging and comes fortified with Vitamin A, thereby providing extra nutrition for consumers.
Mother dairy sells about 35 lakh litres per day, of which 30 lakh litres is in Delhi-NCR.
It has about 800 milk booths and nearly 400 stores in the national capital region.
