Bhopal: Claiming the message to save water on Holi is an attack on the Hindu festivals, Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang on Thursday termed it as “cultural terrorism”.

He said the people should take a pledge to save water, but spreading this message only during the festival of Holi will do no good.

“How much water do we use during Holi? Save water throughout the year. Why does such a message revolve around our festivals only? Sarang asked while interacting with the media here, PTI reported.

Asserting the message is aimed at distancing youth from the Hindu festivals connected to the culture and tradition, Sarang said: “This is an attack on our upcoming generation.”

“Cultural terrorism is being spread in this country,” he alleged.

The Madhya Pradesh minister further said the people come out with the message to save water on Holi, but waste gallons of water to clean their cars.
