Meghalaya: Centre Has Decided To Abolish Old Laws That Have No Relevance Now, Says Union Minister Kiren Rijiju
"Unnecessary laws are burden for common man and must be reduced. We've already removed over 1500 laws," Rijiju said.
New Delhi: Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday said that some old laws in Meghalaya create obstacles in the lives of common man and so the Central government has decided to remove such archaic laws to reduce the burden on the people, news agency ANI reported.
“Some old laws work as impediments to normal life of common people and we've to reduce compliance burden on people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi desires that common people should live peacefully and there should be minimum presence of government in their lives,” ANI quoted Rijiju as saying.
