Meet The Teacher From Kota Imparting Education To 150 Children Who Lost Earning Members To Covid
With the support of family and friends, Shashi Prakash Singh aims to provide education to at least 2,021 children this year whose breadwinners in the family passed away due to Covid-19
New Delhi: The pandemic has brought misery and despair upon families who have lost their loved ones in the battle against the deadly disease. It is also true that many people have come forward to support such families and kids in these trying times, and one such samaritan is Shashi Prakash Singh.
A teacher from Kota in Rajasthan has proved to be a ray of hope for several destitute children who have lost the crucial earning member of their family. So far, Singh has helped more than 150 children to continue with their studies and aims to support as many children as possible to ensure their bright future.

Fulfilling aspirations
Belonging to a farmer’s family, Shashi Prakash Singh originally hails from the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Talking to ABP News, Singh said, "I belong to a farmer family and my parents had struggled a lot for my studies. I understand the problems of such children, and hence I will continue to help such children as long as possible. "
Singh has been teaching chemistry for almost 14 years in well-known institutes of the country. He is known among children as SPS Sir. Singh has taught the subject in several institutes which prepare students for competitive exams such as NEET. Many of his students have become doctors and serving the nation.
Singh, who lost his mother to corona took this pledge to extend support to deprived kids after a few months of her death. Singh said, "A few months ago my mother got infected with corona. There was a lot of struggle before she got admitted to the hospital. During this tough phase my students helped me a lot. I started this initiative after my mother passed away. Till now I have spent Rs 21 lakh from my savings towards this cause.”
With the support of family and friends, Shashi Prakash Singh aims to provide education to at least 2,021 children this year whose breadwinners in the family passed away due to Covid-19. He is providing support to children from class 1 till graduation and post-graduation level.
Shashi Prakash said that he will help with the fees of at least 2021 children in the year 2021. He is constantly getting requests to help such children through social media and calls.
