Mann Ki Baat — India Ready To Host G20 Leaders' Summit: PM Modi Ahead Of Mega Summit In Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday that mission Chandrayaan has become a symbol of the spirit of New India, which wants to ensure victory, and also knows how to win in any situation.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that mission Chandrayaan has become a symbol of the spirit of New India, which wants to ensure victory, and also knows how to win in any situation.

He was addressing the nation through his monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat. It was the 104th edition of the programme and comes after India's successful landing on the Moon's south pole.

"The success of Chandrayaan-3 has added manifolds to the celebration. It has been more than three days since Chandrayaan-3 landed on the surface of the moon. This success is so big that any amount of discussion on it seems less," he said.

Speaking of female participation in the moon mission, Modi said that Mission Chandrayaan is a living example of women's power. "From the Red Fort I had said that we have to strengthen women-led development as a national character. Where the capability of women's power is added impossible is made possible. Mission Chandrayaan is also a living example of women's power. In this mission, many women scientists & engineers were directly involved in it."

Regarding the upcoming G-20 Summit in Delhi, Modi said India's Presidency of the G-20 is a people's presidency. He noted that India is fully ready to host the G20 leaders summit, adding that it will see the highest participation in the bloc's history.

"Our Presidency of the G-20 is a People's Presidency, in which the spirit of public participation is at the forefront," Modi said ahead of the mega summit scheduled to be held in Delhi from September 8-10.

"India is fully prepared for the G-20 Leaders Summit. Heads of 40 countries & many global organisations will be coming to Delhi to participate in this event. This will be the biggest participation in the history of the G-20 Summit," he added.

Modi lauded the Indian players for achieving new successes in the World University Games in China.

"A few days ago the World University Games were held. Indian players displayed their best ever performance in these games," Modi said.

He interacted with the players who participated in the event, including Archer Pragati from Uttar Pradesh.

Modi noted that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign has become a resounding success with every citizen’s efforts.

Wishing everyone on the upcoming ‘World Sanskrit Day’, Modi said, "Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages in the world. Gladdening to see that people doing research on subjects like Yoga, Ayurveda and philosophy are now learning Sanskrit more and more."

Speaking on the significance of the Telugu language, Modi said that Telugu is one of the ancient languages of India just like Sanskrit.

"On 29 August, Telugu language day will be celebrated," he announced on his radio show.

During his Mann ki Baat address, Modi also extended his greetings on the upcoming occasion of Raksha Bandhan to the nation. Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 31 this year.
