New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who was arrested last night by the Central Bureau of Investigation over alleged scam in liquor policy in the national capital will undergo a medical test before being produced in the court today at 1 pm.
According to ABP News sources, Sisodia will undergo the medical test at 10 am today. The deputy CM will have the medical examination done at the CBI headquarters for security reasons.
After the medical test, Sisodia will be produced at Rouse Avenue court at 1 pm today.
The federal probe agency on Sunday arrested Sisodia in connection with the alleged liquor scam after questioning him for 8.5 hours. Sisodia was named as an accused in the liquor case and was previously summoned for questioning.
This was his second summons on Sunday, and the AAP leader was expecting to be arrested today. The CBI issued a statement stating that Sisodia was arrested because he was evasive in his answers.
After Sisodia’s arrest, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann paid a visit to the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence to meet his family members.
"Manish ji's wife is suffering from a serious illness -- multiple sclerosis. In this disease, the brain's control over the body gradually decreases. Manishji's son studies abroad. She is alone now. I told her that Manish ji is a brave person and every Indian is proud of Manishji," the Delhi chief minister said.
Before heading to the CBI headquarters for questioning, Sisodia had a roadshow in which he discussed his wife's illness and urged his supporters to look after her because he was practically assured of his detention.
