While Akhilesh Yadav has the support of his father's cousin, Ram Gopal. His father is supported by Shivpal (Mulayam Singh's brother) and friend Amar Singh, who many say is the bone of contention between father and son. Akhilesh Yadav, on 30 December 2016, was, reportedly, fired from the party by his father, one day after he released a separate list of candidates for the upcoming elections, only to be readmitted within a day. The following day he was elected as the national head of Samajwadi party by his party's national convention in Lucknow, replacing his father who termed it as illegal. However, this feud has landed both the parties into the door of Election Commission with both claiming to be national president of the Samajwadi Party. The 17th UP Legislative Assembly election will be held from February 11 to March 8, 2017 in 7 phases. Only the result will tell that whether we will see young Chief Minister of UP as the CM of the state again.
