Man accused of theft dies in Indore police's custody; Probe ordered

The SP further said “He was brought to Gandhi Nagar police station and fell ill during questioning. A doctor was called and it was detected that the man had low blood pressure”.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man died in the custody of Indore police when he was brought for questioning in a theft case. The man who was allegedly beaten up was nabbed by Indore’s Gandhi Nagar police station on Tuesday. As per reports, his mother has also been admitted to the hospital after she too was allegedly beaten up by the cops. Speaking on the incident SP Indore said, “The Station incharge has been suspended and a judicial inquiry has been ordered”. The SP further said “He was brought to Gandhi Nagar police station and fell ill during questioning. A doctor was called and it was detected that the man had low blood pressure”. “He was sent to a hospital, where he died during treatment and was declared brought dead by another hospital” he added. Now, a case has been registered and probe has been ordered to find out the reason behind the man’s death. More details on the same are awaited.
