New Delhi: A major fire broke out on the fifth floor of Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan at CGO Complex in New Delhi on Wednesday morning. As many as 25 fire tenders are present at the spot to douse the blaze. The cause of the fire is  yet not ascertained. The fire broke out at around 8 am, just before office hours.

The blaze reportedly erupted on the fifth floor of the 11-storied building.

The building, earlier known as Paryawaran Bhawan, houses many important central government offices. The 11-storeyed building also houses several ministries including the Ministry of Social Justice Empowerment and Disability and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

On January 12, an inferno had erupted on the first floor of the B block of the GCO complex because of a short circuit. At that time, 18 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was controlled within an hour.

This is a developing story. More details are awaited.
