New Delhi: In a major administrative reshuffle Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, more than a hundred senior officers have been transferred, soon after the Lok Sabha elections.

Some 15 District Magistrates, 34 IAS Officers, 15 Superintendents of Police and 37 IPS officers have been transferred.

Bhopal District Magistrate (DM) Sudam Khade has been transferred, but no replacement has been announced as yet. Yogesh Deshmukh has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Bhopal, Jaideep Prasad as DGP (Rail) and Ashok Dauhre as DGP (Homeguard).

Soon after the Lok Sabha polls got over, the government reinstated several officers who were removed by the Election Commission over complaints.

This comes at a time when the BJP had made the frequent transfers under Nath a major issue during campaigning for the Lok Sabha, accusing the Kamal Nath government of a huge corruption scandal. It said that the administration reshuffle was done because of massive corruption in the government.

PM Modi and Amit Shah both had attacked Kamal Nath over an alleged hawala scam during the election campaign. Shah had said that scam worth Rs 281 crore has been unearthed in MP during I-T raids within three months of Congress government. He said when such a scam worth 281 crore can take place in only three months of Congres government, what will happen in the rest 55 months.
