Mumbai: A senior official from Maharashtra Police said, "Four Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with the police in Maharashtra." According to his briefing, the encounter took place while the local police team was conducting a search operation at Dhanora, located in the Elevenbatti forest area of Gadchiroli district, located around 920 km from Mumbai, on Saturday morning.


The number of Maoists dead could go up. 


"According to preliminary information, Naxalites opened fire on police personnel, after which police retaliated with return fire. It has been confirmed that four Naxalites have been killed so far. The encounter is still underway," said the senior officer.

According to the information received, the C-60 commander of Maharashtra Police was involved in this encounter. At the same time, last Thursday, the police arrested Mangaru Mandvi, a rewarded Naxalite worth 2 lakh, from this area. According to the police, several cases of murder and attacking the police were registered against Mangaru.
