New Delhi: With Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray set to hold a meeting today, a decision on easing Covid restrictions in the state is expected. Maharashtra has already announced that Mumbai local train services will resume from August 15 for those who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
CM Thackeray will hold a virtual meeting with the Covid Task Force at 8:30 PM on Monday after which big announcements are expected over the gradual resumption of hotels, malls, and religious places in the state.

The state government has been mulling over resuming the "lifeline of Mumbai" — the local trains — for quite some time. Passengers can download (local) train passes through the mobile app. Those who do not have smartphones can take photo passes from municipal ward offices in the city as well as suburban railway stations, he informed.
The Maharashtra CM has said 19 lakh people in Mumbai are fully vaccinated as of now. He said that places where infections continue to show a spike will have to remain under restrictions.

Thackeray also termed the situation in Pune, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Beed districts as a cause for concern.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said all shops can remain open till 8 pm in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
Shopping malls will remain open till 8 pm on all days but entry will be only allowed to those who're fully vaccinated.
